CREDIT RESTORATION
Credit repair can be a daunting task, but with the right tips and strategies, you can improve your credit score and get back on track. Here are some tips to help you get started:
1. Establish a budget: Knowing how much money you have coming in and where it's going each month is the key to establishing a realistic budget. This will help you stay on track with your payments and ensure that you pay all of your bills on time.
2. Pay down credit card balances: Keeping your credit card balances (also referred to as utilization) below 10%. Doing this will help improve your credit score significantly. This means making sure that you keep your balances low and pay them off as quickly as possible.
3. Pay on time: Making sure that you pay all of your bills on time or on or before your due date is important. However, when we're in the restoration phase, we focus on making payments several days before you statement cycle ends. This will ensure that your payments are reported to the credit bureaus at the time the creditor reports to the bureau. When paying on or before your statement due date, you risk reporting of your account status being delayed by an additional 30 days or more.
4. Monitor your credit report: Staying on top of your credit report is a vital part of credit repair. Make sure to review your credit report regularly. Validate your information with the creditors. This is different from disputing.
5. Seek professional help: Credit restoration is a simple process, yet one that happens over time with consistency and proper guidance.
